With the cold wave that is currently sweeping throughout the territory, we warn our fellow citizens regarding the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning which left fifty deaths in Algeria in the space of a month.
Carbon monoxide poisoning is serious that poisoning occurs without the victim being aware of it, due to the colorless state and odorless for gas.
We are not going to replace the Ministry of Health, prevents us from recommending citizens a more cautious use of apparent combustion heating devices such as gas, coal or fuel oil heating.
It should be noted that some 54 people died in January 2023 in Algeria, following fumes of carbon monoxide from their heating and water heaters, according to local civil protection.
Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning are headache, dizziness, drowsiness and vomiting that can worsen, cause shortness of breath, dysfunction of the nervous system and heart and loss of consciousness causing rapid death.
It is recommended, therefore, a complete ventilation of all the parts, not to leave the heating means in the room during sleep and to immediately move the victims in an empty and airy space and to call the doctor or civil protection when the signs of intoxication appear.
