The Mahdia court of first instance ordered, on Tuesday, the detention of a woman and a security guard in a case combining identity usurpation, detention of suspicious objects and clandestine prostitution.

The case broke out after the broadcast on social networks of photos showing the woman dressed in uniforms belonging to two security bodies.

The court spokesman, Walid Chetobri, said that the dissemination of the pictures led the prosecution to open a judicial information and to launch a research notice against the woman. It was finally arrested by the security units.

Heavy charges

According to the authorities, the woman is continued for clandestine prostitution. The security officer, as well as a third individual still on the run, are accused of participation and intermediation.

The prosecution has retained several charges: identity theft, detention of objects of unknown provenance and involvement in debauchery activities. The two defendants were returned to the correctional chamber.

The involvement of a security guard in this file gives a particular dimension to the case. It relaunches the debate on the control of official uniforms and insignia, regularly diverted for illicit purposes.
