Tunisian emigrants squat a Parisian building to claim housing

A hundred young Tunisian emigrants, having benefited from the temporary Schengen residence permit after their landing on the Italian island of Lampedusa, arrived in Paris where they invested a building belonging to the city, according to the French newspaper Le Monde. This occupation was claimed by the Tunisian collective of Lampedusa in Paris.

On this building, located in the 9th arrondissement, they hung a banner on which was registered: “Neither police, nor charity, a place to organize”. Following this, the police deployed a thin device to deal with any eventuality.

According to the daily Le Figaro, this squatte is not an action against the town hall of Paris, whose mayor, Bertrand Belanöe is, remember, born in Tunisia, and more precisely in Bizerte. This action is, in fact, an appeal to the French government to obtain acceptable housing.

It should be noted that the French police continues to multiply the arrests of emigrants and their placement in police custody. Nothing until last Sunday, three Tunisians were repeated on the border despite their temporary residence permit issued by the Italian state.
