The criminal chamber of the Tunis court of first instance sentenced an employee of the post office to eight years in prison, accompanied by a fine, for having illegally appropriated funds belonging to customers of the postal office where he worked.
According to the elements of the file, an inspection mission carried out in 2023 by the competent services of the Tunisian Post in one of the postal centers in the capital revealed financial irregularities.
The investigation highlighted the involvement of the employee in the diversion of a sum estimated at around 180,000 dinars, which led to his indictment and then to his referral to justice.
