Gorjani’s judicial police succeeded in dismantling an international network involved in the importation and distribution of drugs between Tunisia and the Netherlands. The operation led to the seizure of several dozen kilos of cocaine, thousands of ecstasy tablets and the taking into custody of four individuals, including a foreigner.
Targeted surveillance of traffickers
The operation was carried out after extensive surveillance of members of the network, mainly active in the La Marsa region. Among them was a notorious trafficker, already sentenced to 10 years in prison in a European country for drug trafficking and deported to Tunisia after serving six years of his sentence.
Four individuals taken into custody
Based on precise information, law enforcement carried out a search at the home of one of the members of the network, where they seized 36 kg of raw cocaine and 25,000 ecstasy tablets. A second search, this time at the home of the main suspect, led to the seizure of 25,000 dinars, residue of ecstasy tablets and three luxury vehicles.
At the end of the operation, four people, including a foreign national, were taken into police custody. The investigation is continuing to identify all of the accomplices and trace the extent of the international network.
