TNT launched a flight between its main European air hub in Liège in Belgium and Tunis.
On the occasion of the arrival from Belgium of the inaugural flight of the company TNT Airways at Tunis-Carthage airport, TNT representatives had the opportunity to present the activities of the transport company and delivery of parcels, during a press conference held, Thursday, July 30, in Tunis.
The conference was headed by Mr. Mahmoud Ben Abbès, COMMATRAL DIRECTOR OF COMATRAL, Official representative for TNISIA DE TNT EXPRESS, Transport and Shipping Company of rapid parcels operating in 200 countries, and Mr. Philippe Shorp, Director of TNT operations.
The TNT service with Tunisia will be provided five times a week via Marseille, with flights arriving in Tunis, early in the morning, every day before office hours and leaving the city in the evening.
The advantages for customers are: late departures for exports to Europe, deliveries very early in the morning for imports, higher weight and volume capacities, reduced transit times to destination and from other cities served by TNT. The flight will be made with a Boeing 737-400.
Tunisia provides most of its trade with Europe. Country industries include clothing and textiles, automotive and aeronautical components, electrical and mechanical equipment, and pharmaceutical products.
The geographic proximity of Tunisia with the EU and its production capacity just -in -the -point are its main assets, which are based on precise management of the supply chain. The addition of Tunisia to TNT networks responds to this request.
TNT offers the choice and flexibility of delivery options for companies that send packages and goods or receive them with a direct gateway to Europe and the rest of the world.
The flight to Tunisia is the last in a series of improvements in services operated by TNT as part of its Outlook strategy. In recent months, TNT has also added Malta, Venice and Hanover to its air network.
On a daily basis, TNT delivers nearly a million shipments to the world, ranging from documents to palettized parcels and freight. The company operates road and air transport networks in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. TNT made 6.7 billion euros in income in 2014.
