At La Manouba, the shock remains immense. Three days after the discovery of the body of a lawyer in the northern waters canal, justice ordered the arrest of three suspects. All are prosecuted for voluntary homicide with premeditation and participation.
The victim, a lawyer at the Court of Cassation and former political activist, was found on Saturday evening, the body marked by the flames. Behind the Manouba sports complex, in this usually peaceful corner, the investigators faced a scene of incredible violence.
The alert had been given by the National Guard, whose agents, called on the spot, immediately warned the prosecution. The deputy prosecutor, Mohamed Aymen Hammami, and the first investigating judge of the Manouba Court of First Instance, went to the scene, ordering the transfer of the body for autopsy.
Since Saturday, the investigations have not stopped. By dint of overlaps and hearings, three individuals related to the case were arrested. They are now placed in detention, while waiting for the investigation to shed light on the gray areas that surround this crime.
To preserve the integrity of the procedure, few elements filter on the mobile or precise circumstances.
