The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed today, the death of the young Tunisian Abdelmajid Hajri, 35, installed in Stockholm, who had been missing since May 29, 2025. The information was made public via a press release sent to the TAP agency.
As soon as the deceased is reported, the Tunisia Embassy in Stockholm intervened in an emergency, requesting the support of the competent Swedish authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Security Services, in order to shed light on the situation.
On June 11, the Swedish authorities had discovered a lifeless body in an area south of Stockholm. Immediately informed, the embassy contacted the Swedish security services, which opened an investigation to identify the victim. The analyzes carried out made it possible to confirm that it was indeed Abdelmajid Hajri.
Faced with this drama, the Tunisian diplomatic representation started the procedures necessary for the repatriation of the body in Tunisia, within the shortest possible deadlines.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad ensured, moreover, that it followed very closely the progress of the current survey, both at the level of the central administration and through its diplomatic representations.
He stressed his desire to shed light on the circumstances of the death, not excluding the possibility of legal proceedings if criminal clues came to be confirmed.
