The French Institute of Tunisia welcomes Tuesday, April 25 at 6 p.m., a meeting with the academic Anna Colin Lebedev as part of a new cycle of debates on contemporary geopolitical issues.
“Hiwar’NA” is indeed the new conference cycle-geopolitical debates of the IFT. In order to develop a joint reflection between Tunisian and French -speaking experts on international news accessible to an audience of students, journalists and intellectuals, this cycle is intended to offer an original vision of the major geopolitical issues by anchoring, in the media calendar, monthly meetings between specialists in various courses.
For more than a year, the war in Ukraine has raised fundamental questions about international law, on the role of strength and power games in the world. It also raises the question of war and its impact on societies and mentalities in Europe, Russia and Ukraine.
This first debate “Ukraine-Russia, other voices resonate in the war” will be around the teacher-researcher Anna Colin Lebedev, lecturer at the University of Nanterre, author of a book noticed in 2022 on Russian and Ukrainian societies (never brothers? Ukraine and Russia: a post-Soviet tragedy) become, last year France on the war in Ukraine. The idea is to develop with the Tunisian public a different angle of view on the conflict, and to create a debate – on a major contemporary crisis.
The debate will be introduced by Zyed Krichen (editor -in -chief, Al Maghreb) who will be the moderator and will analyze the following angle: “War seen from Tunisia: a distant war? »»
Anna Colin-Lebedev who is a sociologist and professor of universities in Paris Nanterre) will deal with “the war in Ukraine seen from the Russian and Ukrainian peoples: enemy brothers?” ».
Finally, Ahmed Ounaies (former Tunisian Minister for Foreign Affairs, vice-president of the Tunisian Center for International Relations) will intervene in connection with the Tunisian perception of the current conflict.
In addition, as part of her arrival in Tunisia, Anna Colin Lebedev will also give a conference on the same theme at the University of Manouba on Monday, April 24.
