Mubarak takes the whole world off guard

We expected a resignation in good and due form.

We expected the wealthy Hosni Mubarak, at the head of Egypt for 30 years and especially at the head of a colossal fortune estimated at more than $ 70 billion, throws in the towel.

He was expected to meet the expectations of his people who have required his departure since January 25.

Seventeen days, the Egyptians tried, like Tunisians, to dislodge him from his chair, but in vain.

Thursday evening, in a speech as pathetic as that of Ben Ali, on the eve of his escape, Mubarak took the whole world out of the world by announcing his desire to remain in power not without having beforehand delegate certain powers to his new vice-president Omar Suleimane.

What should we understand about this speech? May Mubarak live on another planet. While millions of Egyptians ask him to release, the rais has returned to its service states, on its 60 years spent serving its country (and raising its fortune) and its desire to amend the Constitution in favor of democracy.

A speech that came too late especially when you know that 300 martyrs have already died for looking for a little freedom and dignity. A deadly speech that already announces other dead and dangerous troubles. The reaction of the Egyptian street was not long in coming. Angry and very disappointed with this message of provocation, these people promise the worst to the Egyptian regime.

And to say that the CIA, however renowned in its field of action, had already announced the fall of Mubarak. The whole world had announced this fall, but the old man preferred to make a last nose to the planet before a departure scheduled for … September when his mandate is actually completed.

And the vice in all of this? Omar Suleimane added, also oil on fire, by urging the Egyptian people to go home. Mubarak has chosen his replacement! Obama, surprised by the turn of events immediately summoned his national security team and must now deal with the worst …

In the meantime, let us pray that the land of the pharaohs does not turn into burnt soil!
