Manouba civil protection agents managed, Saturday, September 20, to recover the bodies of two brothers aged 15 and 17, died drowned the day before in the Medjerda channel (CAP Bon), at the locality of El Habibia, delegation of Djedeida. The information was confirmed by the Regional Director of Civil Protection, Salem Youssfi, at the TAP agency.
From the alert given by the National Guard units, a civil protection team supported by divers went there to launch research. The two bodies were found successively, carried away by the current far from the place of the accident.
The prosecution proceeded to the observation and ordered the transfer of the remains to the legal medicine department of the Charles Nicolle hospital in Tunis to determine the exact causes of the death. An investigation was opened by the Tebourba National Guard Research and Investigations Brigade.
According to concordant testimonies, the two teenagers have plunged into the canal to try to save their female dog who fell into the water, but failed to get out of the current. Their tragic disappearance plunged into mourning their neighborhood as well as their college where they were both educated.
