The public prosecutor at the Sfax-1 court of first instance, Faouzi Masmoudi, told the TAP agency on Monday, that 9 judicial inquiries were opened against a teacher suspected of acts of sexual assault on a group of students in the primary classes.
As part of this case, 16 children have been interviewed since mid-March 2023, said the source, noting that the prosecution ordered the opening of surveys concerning the complaints of 9 of them, while 7 other cases were classified, due to the lack of suspicion of sexual abuse and harassment.
For its part, the Bara’a association for the protection of children in danger, had, in a press release published last Thursday, expressed “its astonishment in the face of the reluctance of most of the parents of the children concerned to continue the teacher charged in court”.
In the same press release, the association has considered it “unacceptable to conceal a file of such a scope, calling for the guarantee of the right and the best interests of children and to respect all the provisions stipulated in law n ° 58 relating to the elimination of all forms of violence against the child.
