Imen al-Obeidy, the young Libyan woman, who unfortunately became famous following a collective rape of pros Gaddafi militiamen, at a dam at the entrance to Benghazi, arrived, last Thursday, in Tunisia. His arrival was able to be done thanks to the help of a soldier, deserter, and his family.
The story of Imen has gone around the world. She had attracted the sympathy of the planet, starting with the journalists, who were in the hotel where she burst out, and who tried to protect her. She wanted to denounce what she had suffered.
Imen told his journey to CNN. She fled disguised from Tripoli to a military vehicle. The vehicle was arrested several times. But, the officer showed his papers and returned to the road to arrive, finally, on the Tunisian border, and more precisely, at the level of Dhehiba.
European diplomats then took over to take him to the capital. They host her while waiting for her to decide her future.
