A road accident, which occurred this Monday afternoon, cost the head of the national police station in El Batan, belonging to the delegation of Tebourba in the governorate of Manouba.
The latter was struck by a collective taxi while he participated in a security operation in a neighborhood near El Batan, according to a security source cited by the Tunis Afrique Press (TAP) agency.
According to the details provided, the victim, a 35 -year -old young man intervened to apprehend a sought after individual. As he crossed the road, he was violently hit by a collective taxi, causing him a fatal injury.
Informed of the incident, the public prosecutor at the Manouba court of first instance ordered an inspection of the premises and the opening of a judicial investigation to determine the circumstances of this tragic accident.
In a press release, the Tebourba national security region expressed its deep sadness and paid tribute to the deceased, welcoming its commitment to the fight against crime and the maintenance of public order.
