Five people were asphyxiated yesterday, Saturday, by a gas leak in a house located in Maqoula, in the governorate of Béja, including an infant of only ten days.
A Béja civil protection official told TAP that the victims were transported by ambulance to the Béja regional hospital.
He said that gas leak could come from the bathroom, used at the time of the incident. A 20 -year -old young woman, sister of the owner of the house, was first seriously affected. Subsequently, a 40 -year -old mother and her three children, 11 years old, 10 years old and 10 days, were also poisoned.
It should be noted that the governorate of Béja has recorded, since the beginning of winter, two deaths linked to gas leaks in the AMDOUN region, as well as more than ten cases of poisoning in different districts of the city.
