According to figures from the Municipality of the French city of Nice, there are 10,300 Tunisians recorded in the city. There are an estimated 45,000 Tunisians living in the Alpes Maritimes department.
This Tunisian diaspora is often binational and works in several sectors ranging from grocery and catering but also in Tech.
Contributing to the socio-economic vitality of the region, this Tunisian community born on the south shore and living on the north shore of the Mediterranean, is a major element of the Nice mosaic.
As a reminder, the Rencontres Tuniçoises took place on Friday November 21 at the Mediterranean University Center in Nice. They focused on the proximity between Nice and Djerba, both listed as UNESCO world heritage sites.
Organized by the Voice of Tunisians Abroad, this day saw the signing of a protocol on good practices in the field of tourism between the tourism authorities of Nice and Djerba.
Several deputies from the Assembly of People’s Representatives were present for this day, notably Riadh Jaidane and Amor Barhoumi (deputies of Tunisians abroad, ARP) and Bedis Belhadj Ali (deputy for Djerba and president of the parliamentary committee on Tourism at the ARP).
