A strike operation was carried out at Ariana Nord. Agents of the judicial police brigade put an end to the actions of an African network specializing in the manufacture and distribution of cocaine, active between Ariana-ville and the upscale district of Enasr.
According to a security source cited by Mosaïque FM, all the members arrested are from sub-Saharan Africa. During the raid, investigators discovered 575 grams of cocaine, as well as vials and chemicals used for the manufacture of synthetic cocaine, a phenomenon that is still rare but growing in Tunisia.
The operation also allowed the seizure of large sums of money from trafficking, confirming the organized and lucrative nature of the network.
By order of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ariana Court of First Instance, all suspects were placed in police custody pending their presentation in court.
This arrest marks a new episode in the silent war waged by the security forces against traffickers who seek to set up veritable clandestine laboratories in the northern suburbs of Tunis – an area long spared from this type of crime.
