Unpleasant surprise for the Tunisian delegation at the last African judo championships which have just taken place in Senegal. While the said delegation was preparing to fly to Léopold Sedar Senghor airport in Dakar to return to the country, Anis Ben Khaled, the Tunisian champion (also having French nationality) was arrested by Senegalese police.
It was following a request from the French authorities that the Tuniso-Français judoka was arrested. And according to one of the journalists of the Senegalese newspaper “Le Populaire”, Anis would be asked by French justice for crimes that he would have committed on French territory, among other accusations for drug trafficking, robberies and armed attacks. And although three times stopped in France, Anis managed to flee after violating the police. Led to the Dakar court, he managed to escape the vigilance of his guards, before being under control after a chase in the streets of a popular city, reports the weekly Al Akhbar.
The president of the Tunisian Federation of Judo, Mr. Hédi Mhirsi, was surprised by this measure taken by the French authorities, adding that Anis Ben Khaled had traveled several times from France to Tunis and vice versa without being disturbed, having a project in preparation on the side of the Sahel and participated in several internships including the last in hexagon itself.
