An asteroid the size of a bus is getting closer to the earth and should fly over our planet at a distance of 3,500 km on the night of Thursday to Friday January 27, 2023. Should we fear a possible impact?
This asteroid, baptized 2023, established by NASA, was detected by the American space agency, NASA, on January 21, which reported its presence in the solar system.
The space rock measures almost 3.8 to 8.5 meters wide, it revolves around the sun and approaches the earth at a speed of 53,000 km/h.
The rocky and metallic body will also fly over the earth at a distance of 3,500 km and according to the estimates of NASA, this passage will be in Thursday January 26, 2023 at 10:17 pm.
Should we fear a possible impact with the earth? According to scientists, there is no worries about the asteroid, since it will not touch the earth.
According to them, asteroids measuring less than 25 meters in diameters take fire when they enter the earth’s atmosphere. Note that this is not the first time that an asteroid has come closer to the earth.
If this has no risk for the earth, the phenomenon will be an incredible experience to observe for astronomers.
