The date of AID El Idha is finally arrested.
The sacred month of Dhul-Hijja, the month of Hajj, begins today Sunday, November 7, according to the announcement of Saudi Arabia. Eid El Idha corresponding to the tenth day of the month of Dhul-Hijja should therefore take place on November 16.
This year, in Tunisia, the number of sheep planned for sale would be around 8,30,000 heads corresponding to an increase of 13 % compared to the AID El Idha of 2009. The price per kilo of sheep has increased this year. And despite this, Tunisian families make it a point of honor to buy a sheep for Eid.
They will even go into debt for this purpose. The National Institute of Statistics estimates the percentage of families to go into debt at 11%.
After the month of Ramadan, the start of the school year, the lessons, the car loans, the accommodation and the arrival of Steg and Sonede’s bills, the price of the sheep’s sacrifice promises to be hard for the Tunisians.
