Myriam Ben Jemaa Meziou, Tunisian architect and expert Building Information Modeling (BIM), presents her “happiness index” at the Bim World Paris conference, offering a new measure of the impact of spaces on well-being.

The Tunisian architect Myriam Ben Jemaa Meziou, an expert in Building Information Modeling (BIM), recently unveiled an innovation during the BIM World conference in Paris. Its innovative concept, an “index of happiness”, offers a measure of the impact of space on the well-being of the occupants, benefiting both to users and to building companies and architects.

This project was developed as part of its thesis at the National School of Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, called “Bim for Happiness”. BIM, construction project management method based on a 3D digital model, provides a precise representation of the real building.

Christophe Lheureux, Deputy Director of Innovation and Intelligent Building and Top 10 BIM Influencier 2019, underlined on LinkedIn “The methodical approach of Myriam Ben Jemaa Meziou, who identified the evaluation criteria and developed an algorithm to extract the relevant data from BIM”.

Through the advanced use of BIM, Myriam Ben Jemaa Meziou offers a happiness calculator, a tool revealing the positive impact of architectural characteristics on the satisfaction and well-being of the occupants.
