The Daily Mail has just highlighted a case similar to that of RFK JR’s “brain worm”, but this time in Tunisia. In an exclusivity entitled “A woman undergoes damage to the organs caused by a parasitic worm laying eggs inside her abdomen”, the British daily reveals that the woman in question is of Tunisian origin. One wonders well what prompted to establish such a parallel between a Tunisian peasant and the eminent Robert F. Kennedy Jr.!
The British daily newspaper specifies, in its edition of today Thursday, May 16, that doctors insist on the need to make the public more aware of these neglected and potentially fatal parasitoses which can affect anyone, from celebrities to peasants. It only remains to classify Tunisia as a risk area for parasites!
Pleasure as part, these parasites are perhaps not priority n ° 1 for robust North American or British city dwellers, but they remain a tenacious scourge in many disadvantaged campaigns in Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. So, a little caution during stays on the farm will not hurt!
Returning to scientific facts, a 33 -year -old Tunisian was seriously affected by a parasite similar to the one who touched RF Kennedy Jr in 2010. According to a case study published in the American Journal of Case Reports, the Tunisian had to be hospitalized in emergency after having presented symptoms such as severe abdominal cramps, fever and yellowing of the skin and eyes reports the same source.
The examinations revealed a rupture of a biliary cyst caused by the parasitic worm Echinococcus granulosus, head of cystic echinococcosis. This animal infection is a major public health problem in many poor regions.
After surgery and antibiotic treatment, the patient’s condition stabilized. His case echoes that of Kennedy, who had suffered from memory loss because of a parasite having gnawed part of his brain, probably contracted during a trip to South America.
Robert Kennedy Jr, nephew of “JFK”, 70 years old, is a lawyer known for his conspiratorial theories. He is a candidate for the American presidential election next November.
