The prosecution requested ten months suspended prison sentence and 45 thousand euros fine against the Algerian international Youcef Atal, for having shared a story calling for “a black day on the Jews”.
Already suspended by his club the OGC Nice, Youcef Atal was tried yesterday Monday, December 18, at the Nice Criminal Court for “provocation to hatred at the rate of religion”.
The prosecution requested ten months suspended prison sentence and 45,000 euros fine against the Algerian player, implicated for sharing a 35 -second video calling for “a black day on the Jews”, after the bombings led by the Zionists on Gaza.
The prosecutor also required that the judgment, put under deliberation on Wednesday January 3, 2024, or displayed for a month on the player’s Instagram account.
The 27 -year -old footballer defended himself by explaining that he “had not watched the video to the end” before broadcasting it, and being convinced that it was a message of peace.
Recall that Youcef Atal was placed in view of Nice on November 24.
