Tunisian swimmer Ahmed Jaouadi qualified on Saturday for the final of the 1500 -meter freestyle at the world of water sports championships in Singapore. He signed the second best time in the series and will play the final this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (Tunisian time).
During the qualifying series of the 1500 m freestyle, disputed on Saturday morning in Singapore, Ahmed Jaouadi dominated his series in 14,44 ″ 95, ahead of the German Sven Schwarz (14’45 ″ 31) and the American Bobby Finke (14’45 ″ 70).
Sunday, the final
This time allows the Tunisian to win the second best performance of the qualifications, just behind the German Florian Wellbrock, who finished in 14,44 ″ 81.
Objective: a new world title
The final will take place on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (Tunisian time), with a good chance of a medal and a new world title for the young Tunisian prodigy.
Ahmed Jaouadi (20) has already shone this week in Singapore by winning the gold medal of the 800 m freestyle with a time of 7’36 ″ 88, last Wednesday.
The previous year, he was crowned world champion of the 1500 m and bronze medalist of the 800 m in small pool in Budapest (2024). At the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, he finished 4th in the 800 m and 6th in the 1500 m, bordering on the Olympic podium.
