The Tunisian swimmer qualified this Tuesday, July 29 for the final of the 800 -meter freestyle, by signing the best time of the series at the world championships in Singapore. He will swim for a medal this Wednesday at 12:02 p.m. (HT).
A brilliant performance in series
Ahmed Jaouadi, 20, performed an impressive performance during the 800 -meter freestyle series, disputed Tuesday morning in Singapore. With a time of 7’41”58, he signed a new personal record and takes first place in the general classification.
He is ahead of Australian Samuel Short (7’42”22) and the German Sven Schwarz (7’43”60). Thanks to this reference time, Jaouadi stands out as one of the favorites for the final scheduled for Wednesday at 12:02 p.m. (Tunisian time).
An expected rise in power
Jaouadi’s performance has confirmed its constant progression for two years. The specialized press welcomes its sense of race and its strategic management of series.
Ahmed Jaouadi had already distinguished himself at the world championships in a small pool in Budapest in 2024, winning gold over 1500 m and bronze on 800 m. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he finished 4th in the 800 m and 6th in the 1500 m, confirming his status as a great hope of Tunisian swimming. He is also engaged on the 1500 m freestyle, scheduled for August 2.
