Tunisian Mohamed Nidhal Khelifi won the 800m Archair (T53) Silver Medal (T53) at the 2025 para-athletics on Friday, establishing a new African record in 1 min 37 sec 15 in passing.
The world title has returned to the Thai Pongsakorn Paeyo, author of a time of 1 min 35 sec 76, which is a new record for the championships. The podium was supplemented by the Russian Vitalii Grintsenko, third in 1 min 37 sec 52.
With his performance, Khelifi signed one of the best Tunisian results in the competition and confirms his progression on the international scene.
