Women’s World Cup: Tunisia plays Argentina for a second unprecedented success in the main round

The women’s national handball team is preparing for a decisive meeting in the main round of the 2025 World Cup. Opposed to Argentina for their third outing in Group 3, the Tunisians have the opportunity to score a historic victory and consolidate the progress seen during their previous success against Austria. A high-stakes match, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and broadcast on beIN Sports Fr 4.

Tunisia approaches this meeting with a clear objective: to achieve a second success in the main round, a performance never before achieved in the history of national women’s handball in the world championship.

The momentum born from the victory against Austria has strengthened the confidence of the group, which knows however that the margin for error remains narrow in a group dominated by two European leaders, France and the Netherlands.

Argentina, poorly ranked but dangerous opponent

Last in Group 3 and still looking for their first points, Argentina remains an opponent to approach with caution. Despite its bottom status, the South American selection remains capable of destabilizing teams that give them too much space or drop in intensity. The Tunisians will therefore have to maintain the defensive rigor displayed against Austria to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

If the first two positions in the group – synonymous with qualification for the quarters – seem promised to France and the Netherlands, Tunisia retains the hope of securing an honorable place in a particularly dense table. A victory today would establish a lasting position in this mid-table battle, where Poland and Austria also remain in the running.

Tunisian dynamics to be confirmed

Beyond the accounting issue, the players of the national selection are mainly aiming for continuity in the game. Their rise in power has materialized through better offensive efficiency, clearer discipline in defense and increasing cohesion in the transition phases.

By maintaining this level, Tunisia can hope to capitalize on the accumulated confidence to take a new symbolic step on the world stage.
