The national swimming selection must participate in the next Arab swimming championship … but for financial reasons, this participation is still hypothetical.
Indeed, the spokesperson for the Tunisian Swimming Federation (FTN), Houda Jrad, explained, in a statement to the TAP agency, that the participation of the Tunisian selection in the Arab championship scheduled for Abu Dhabi from October 27 to 30, is not yet confirmed for financial reasons.
Thirteen swimmers belonging to the national selection and who represent hopes of medals, could stay at home if the Ministry of Youth and Sports does not put their hands in the pocket to help the FTN.
This is suggested by Houda Jrad by making it known that Tunisia’s participation in the Arab championship is dependent on financial support from the supervisory authority.
Inconceivable when you think that swimming is one of the very few sports in Tunisia to have world and Olympic champions like Ayoub Hafnaoui or Osama Mellouli!
