Thursday, February 20, 2025, the criminal chamber of the Tunis court of first instance pronounced a sentence of four years in prison, accompanied by the ban on exercising a public service, against Wadii Jary, the ex-president of the Tunisian Football Federation.
This decision follows a mandate issued against him for accusations related to the abusive use of his position as a public official, in order to obtain industrial advantages for himself or for other people.
The charges against Wadii Jary also include damage to the administration, in connection with a recruitment contract concluded for a former technical director of national football teams.
In the same case, a technical framework, currently on bond, was sentenced to six years in prison. This conviction follows the investigation concerning the said contract signed between the Tunisian Football Federation and this technical framework, for its collaboration with one of the national football teams.
