The criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal confirmed the guilt of Wadii Jary, former president of the Tunisian Football Federation, while reducing his prison sentence from four to three years.
In the same file, the sentence of six years in prison pronounced against a second accused – a technical framework pursued in freedom – was maintained.
Recall that the Tunis court of first instance had initially sentenced on February 20, 2025, Wadii Jary to four years in prison, accompanied by the ban on exercising a public service while the second adopted had been received by six years, without a warrant.
This decision follows a mandate issued against him for accusations related to the abusive use of his position as a public official, in order to obtain industrial advantages for himself or for other people.
The charges against Wadii Jary also include damage to the administration, in connection with a recruitment contract concluded for a former technical director of national football teams.
This conviction follows the investigation concerning the said contract signed between the Tunisian Football Federation and this technical framework, for its collaboration with one of the national football teams.
