A success achieved with determination after two initial setbacks, and crowned by the brilliant performance of goalkeeper Roua Mkaddem, elected best player of the match.
Tunisia signed on Tuesday the first qualification in its history for the Main Round of the Women’s World Cup by winning against China (34-28) during the 3rd day of Group F. In Maasport, in the Netherlands, the national players built their success in a long-contested meeting, taking the lead at the break (18-17) before accelerating in the second half. Goalkeeper Roua Mkaddem, imperious, made a series of decisive saves and was logically crowned best player of the match.
Rebound after two defeats
Heavily beaten by France (18-43) then narrowly by Poland (26-29), the Tunisians found the resources to reverse the dynamic. This first success gives them 3rd place in the group (2 points), synonymous with qualification. The Chinese, last, move to the President’s Cup, a ranking tournament.
