The Tunisian pétanque selection won the title of African champion on Friday, November 28 in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The national triplet, led by coach Brahim Ayari, won the final against Congo with a score of 13 to 8. This victory marks a new milestone for Tunisian pétanque on the continent.
A flawless journey
Before reaching the final, Tunisia successively dominated the Comoros in the quarter-final then Senegal in the semi-final, winning both matches by the same impressive score of 13 to 3. The consistency and technical mastery of the team were decisive in reaching the decisive match against the Congolese.
A controlled victory
In the final, the Tunisian team made up of Khaled Bougriba, Karem Ben Hmida, Yassine Chelli and Haythem Skandrani showed great collective strength. The final score of 13 to 8 demonstrates clear domination.
Khaled Bougriba, reigning world champion, also shone in the precision shooting event. He lost in the final to Mauritanian Amadou Traoré, winning the silver medal.
