This Friday evening, Tunisia underwent an unexpected defeat (0-1) against the Comoros at the Hamadi Agrebi stadium in Radès on the third day of the group A qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations 2025.
The goal of Comorian victory was scored by Rafiki Saïd in the 63rd minute.
The Eagles of Carthage, which aimed at a third consecutive victory to get closer to qualification, failed despite a ball possession of more than 70 % and several occasions, including a Sassi shot which struck the post. This defeat puts under pressure from Tunisia, which had previously beaten Madagascar (1-0) and the Gambia (2-1).
On the other hand, this victory allows the Comoros to break a series of five matches without success and to rise to second place in group A with 5 points, thus exceeding Madagascar and Gambia, which have 2 points. This meeting puts an end to more than ten years of invincibility of Tunisians at home during CAN qualifications.
