Tunisia African Halterophilia Champion

The female Tunisian selection, younger and juniors, was crowned African weightlifting champion in Nairobi, Kenya, after dominating the competition. The male cadet team finished second in second place. In total, Tunisians won 37 medals including 31 in gold.

The Tunisian athletes distinguished themselves in Kenya where the African weightlifting championships were held by winning 37 medals, including 31 in gold, 5 in silver and 1 in bronze.

During the 1st day the national weightlifting selections, cadets and juniors won 22 medals, including 16 in gold, 5 in silver and 1 in bronze.

Yasmine Radhouani (49 kg) and Hadil Gahlouzi (59 kg) each won 3 gold medals among youngest and as much gold among juniors. Emna Bessayeh (55 kg) was distinguished with 3 gold medals (cadets) and 3 silver (juniors) while Youssef Jendoubi (67 kg) obtained a gold and 2 silver medal in the cadets as well as a bronze medal among the juniors.

During the second day, the counter enriched with 15 new gold medals, notably thanks to Zaineb Naoui (+81 kg), which won 6 gold medals (3 in the cadet and 3 junior category), as well as Mohamed Taher Ayadi (89 kg), an author of 6 gold medals (3 among cadets and 3 among juniors). In addition, Ghofrane Gharissa (71 kg) shone by winning 3 gold medals in the young category.
