Totalnergies and the African Football Confederation (CAF) announced the extension of their partnership for a period of four years, until 2028. This agreement, signed by Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of Totalnergies, and Dr Patrice Word, President of the CAF, confirms the commitment of the energy group in the support of African football.
During this period, Totalenergies will sponsor 12 major CAF competitions, including the African Male and Women’s (CAN) Cup, as well as the African Nations Championship and several tournaments of the youth categories. For the first time, the company will also support the African School of Football Championship, a program aimed at promoting the practice of football among young people on the continent.
Patrick Pouyanné highlighted the importance of this partnership, which allows Totalenergies to contribute to the influence of African football, by highlighting the values of diversity and unity that he embodies.

For his part, Dr. Patrice Word greeted this collaboration, believing that she participates in the development of football at all levels in Africa.

Since 2016, Totalenergies has been a key player in African football, with the sponsorship of more than 1,500 games and 10 major CAF competitions (3 interclub competitions and 7 national competitions, including the prestigious African Nations Cup (CAN), now called Totalenergies CAF Cup of Nations). This new extension confirms its commitment to supporting the growth of sport on the continent.
