Tunisian Marwa Bouzayani distinguished herself, today in the 3000m Steeple final at the Worldo World Championships in Tokyo, finishing in 4ᵉ place and breaking her own national record.
Bouzayani traveled the distance in 9: 01.46, thus improving its previous Tunisian record of 9: 04.93, established on August 30, 2024. This performance places the young athlete among the best worlds, confirming its constant progression on the international scene.
The gold medal returned to the Kenyan Faith Cherotich, which won the race in 8: 51.59, establishing a new record for the championships. She is ahead of Bahrain Winfred Mutile Yavi (silver, 8: 56.46) and the Ethiopian Simer Almayew (Bronze, 8: 58.86, personal record).
As a reminder, the Tunisian Ahmed Jaziri had finished 11ᵉ of the 3000m male steeplechase last Monday, with a time of 8: 39.30, also demonstrating the Tunisian potential over this demanding distance.
