This Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Omnisports room in Radès will be the scene of an emblematic confrontation of Tunisian volleyball: the final of the male Tunisia Cup between Tunis Sports Hope and Sports Star of the Sahel.
Beyond the simple sporting issue, this meeting embodies the rich and passionate history of a competition which, since its creation in 1957, has captured fans of the flying ball across the country.
The Tunisia Cup offers a scene where clubs in all regions can dream of glory, and where historical rivalries are expressed with intensity.
The sporting hope of Tunis, with its 22 titles, dominates the list of competition. The Sfaxian sports club follows with 12 corporations, while the Sahel sports star has 7. We must not forget the Kélibia Olympic club, the Marsa sporting future (8 titles each) and the African club, another volleyball institution, which also marked the Tunisia Cup with 5 titles to its credit.
This year’s final is of particular importance. Hope, already crowned national champion for the 25th time last April, aims for a double which would confirm its current supremacy and a 9th consecutive cup. The star, for his part, is trying to reconnect with the Cup victory, a trophy that has escaped him since 2016.
Beyond statistics and records, the Tunisia Cup is a reflection of a popular passion for volleyball. It symbolizes the commitment of clubs, the dedication of players and the enthusiasm of supporters.
While the spotlights turn to Radès, this final (broadcast on Watania 2) is an opportunity to greet not only the finalists, but also all those who, since 1957, have helped make the Tunisia Cup an institution of national sport. May the best prevail, while respecting the values that make the greatness of Tunisian volleyball.
