Ons Jabeur is back. After a chaotic start to the year due to a binding injury and after a rushed return to the courts which earned him a lot of setbacks as well as defeats, the Tunisian set the record straight.

2nd final following Charleston
4th trophy won since 2021
11th final played

Last night she won the Charleston WTA 500 tournament, the first in her season, beating in the final the Swiss Belinda Bencic, in two sets.

Despite a laborious start where she was quickly Breaké, Ons Jabeur managed to overthrow the steam to win the first set, in Tiebreak, 7 games at 6.

On her momentum, our national champion raised the race throughout the second set, that she won 6 games to 4, offering herself the Charleston tournament and her first title of the season.

But beyond his victory, Ons Jabeur took a double revenge. First on his opponent of the day. On April 10, 2022, exactly a year ago, Ons Jabeur and Belinda Bencic were already face to face in the final of the Charleston Open. The Tunisian then lost in three sets (1-6, 7-5, 4-6).

Ons Jabeur has also proven that she is indeed back on the circuit after her elimination to the 32nd finals of the Miami tournament and in the third round of Indian Wells since his return from injury. An injury that had contracted during his participation in the Australian Open in late January

Ons Jabeur played his eleventh final in the WTA circuit and his second final consecutive to the Charleston tournament yesterday. She won her fourth trophy after those of Birmingham in 2021, Madrid in 2022 and Berlin also 2022.

The Tunisian also lost seven finals including Charleston, Rome, Wimbledon and the US Open in the year 2022 alone.

In Charleston, Ons Jabeur started the tournament by beating the Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko (77th) in the second round in two sets (6-3, 6-3). She then eliminated the American Caroline Dolehide by winning in two sets (6-3, 7-5) then the Russian Anna Kalinskaya in two sets (6-0,4-1). In the semi-finals, she beat the Russian Daria Kasatkina in two sets (7-5, 7-5).
