Unusual fact, on the occasion of the Champions League meeting between Celtic Glasgow and Atlético, at the Celtic Park in Glasgow, in the evening of Wednesday October 25, 2023, the Celtic supporters displayed their support for Palestine … Embalying and impressive!

They were more than 60 thousand supporters, last night at the Celtic Park in Glasgow to attend the Champions League match between Celtic Glasgow and Atlético Madrid. A Celtic Park in the colors of Palestine.

Hundreds of Palestinian flags have been brandished in the stadium stands, which for the occasion, posted massive support for Palestine at a time when the war rages between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip.

This mobilization initiated by the Green Brigade, the group of ultra supporters formed in 2006, was mainly slogan “Free Palestine”.

Already on Sunday, during a trip to Edinburgh against the Hearts, the green and white flags had been replaced by the Palestinian flags in the gallery of Celtic supporters. A new brand of support for victims of strikes on the Gaza Strip, and their families.

Celtic is the Catholic club of the East End of Glasgow, a home of the dispossessed, engaged in the eternal class struggle, and not only in Scotland. “The North Curve raises the Palestinian flag to show the world” that the club stands on the side of the oppressed and not oppressors, “the green brigade said in a press release.

And this is not the first time that Celtic fans have used the Champions League scene to express themselves on the conflict in the Middle East. In August 2016, Celtic played against the Israeli club Happoel Be’er Sheeva in front of the North curve, decorated with many Palestinian flags.

The green brigade had paid the fine of £ 16,000 from UEFA and donated additional £ 100,000 to social projects in Palestine.
