With the perspective of the next general meeting of May 11, 2024, which should make it possible to set up a new federal office, the FTF opened, today, the door to applications for the post of president.
The independent commission for the elections of the Tunisian Football Federation announced, this Tuesday, April 2, 2024, that the submission of applications for the next elective general assembly will begin on April 12 and will end on April 20, 2024 at 12:00.
In addition, the deadline for the presentation of applications for the presidency of the football body as well as for the members of the Federal Bureau was set for April 29, at 5:00 p.m.
The FTF decided to hold its elective general assembly on May 11. This was to take place at first, on March 9, but it was canceled due to the rejection of the three candidate lists.
Faced with this blockage, the FTF referred to the International Football Federation (FIFA), which then decided to extend the mandate of the federal office in practice until May 20.
The FTF convened an elective general meeting for the period 2024-2028 while the mandate of the current federal office, arrives at the end of knowing that its president Wadii Jary has been imprisoned since October 25, 2023 and that Wassef Jalil, vice-president of the FTF, took over.
Three candidates (Maher Ben Aissa, Jalel Tekaya and Wissem Letaif), had expressed their wish to chair the FTF, but the three lists were rejected.
