The FIFA Council office has decided to appoint a standardization committee for the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) in accordance with article 8, paragraph 2 of FIFA statutes.
Thus, after two extensions, FIFA decided to put an end to the mandate to the federal office and to appoint a standardization committee which will be responsible for provisionally directing Tunisian football, on the eve of the 2024-2025 season.
FIFA indicates, in a press release that this decision was taken after consulting the CAF, in order to give the FTF the means to get out of the current crisis, to review its statutes as well as its electoral code, then to organize elections in line with its new statutory framework knowing that the two attempts for the election of a new federal office had failed because of the releases of all the candidate lists.
The mandate of the standardization committee will run until the election of a new federal office with a maximum period set for January 31, 2025. This committee, the composition of which, will be announced soon by FIFA will be the subject of an eligibility control carried out by the FIFA control commission, in accordance with its governance regulations. Its members will be appointed jointly by FIFA and CAF.
