Ahmed Hafnaoui may miss the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, revealing uncertainties and potential problems in his participation, according to recent statements by the president of the Tunisian Olympic Committee.
Uncertainties hover over the possible absence of Ahmed Hafnaoui at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. The president of the Tunisian Olympic Committee, Mehrez Boussayene, recently revealed during a television interview that the swimmer could miss the event due to an injury.
According to Boussayene, the doctors of the Center for Sports Medicine recommended a prolonged rest of six weeks in Hafnaoui, making its qualification and its preparation for the Paris Games in July, uncertain. This announcement is a blow for Tunisian sport, Hafnaoui being a hope of gold medal and promising talent.
Other sources, such as the team, evoke visa -related problems. At the end of 2023, Hafnaoui trained in the United States, California, but he had to return to Tunisia, invoking visa problems.
To clarify the situation, we contacted the official spokesperson for the Tunisian Swimming Federation (FTN), Ms. Houda Jrad, who confirmed that the federation’s office met on Tuesday evening to examine the case of Hafnaoui after the revelations of the president of the Olympic committee.
The manager of Hafnaoui will be contacted to find out the reasons for his withdrawal from the Paris Games, and the Federation will publish an official press release once all the known details.
Hafnaoui will also be invited to provide a detailed report on the reasons for his withdrawal, especially if he is injured, especially since he has not informed the Federation of the difficulties encountered.
Ms. Jrad concluded by saying that the file would be settled as soon as possible and that the debate would be closed after having contacted Hafnaoui and her agent.
