The Tunis-Afrique-Presse agency revealed the results of its annual referendum recognizing the best Tunisian athletes. Ali Abdi, Ahmed Jaouadi, Wafa Masghouni, Amenallah Tissaoui and Raoua Tlili were distinguished following a vote involving journalists, coaches and technical managers.
The results of the annual referendum of the Tunis-Afrique-Presse Agency were announced during a ceremony organized in Tunis on the occasion of Sports Press Day. Each year, this event recognizes the most successful athletes in several categories.
The ballot mobilized a large panel of voters made up of sports journalists, coaches of Ligue 1 clubs and technical directors from different federations.
In the category of best footballer, Tunisian international Ali Abdi won after a very close duel. He is narrowly ahead of Hannibal Mejbri, while Montassar Talbi completes the podium.
This distinction rewards a season marked by the consistency and impact of the player both at club and national team, confirming his status among Tunisian football executives.
Ahmed Jaouadi at the top of Tunisian sport
All disciplines combined, swimmer Ahmed Jaouadi was named best sportsman of the year. He is ahead of taekwondo player Khalil Jendoubi and fencer Farès Ferjani, in a ranking which reflects the diversity of Tunisian performances on the sporting scene.
This recognition confirms the rise of Tunisian swimming and the central place occupied by Jaouadi in the national sporting landscape.
Wafa Masghouni, new reference to the feminine
Among the ladies, taekwondo player Wafa Masghouni was voted best sportswoman of the year. She is ahead of Mouna Béji and Khadija Krimi, at the end of a vote which rewards her results and her remarkable progress.
This distinction once again illustrates the good health of Tunisian women’s sport, particularly in individual disciplines.
Handisport in the spotlight with Tissaoui and Tlili
In the Paralympic men’s category, Amenallah Tissaoui won ahead of Walid Ktila and Yassine Gharbi. A reward which salutes a season rich in performances and consistency.
