The Tunisian selection of Taekwondo shone this on Thursday at the Open International of Astana, Kazakhstan, by winning a total of seven medals, including five in gold and two in silver.

The supreme titles were won by Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi (-63 kg), Moataz Laifaoui (-87 kg), Wafa El Mesghouni (-62 kg), Chaïma Toumi (-57 kg) and Aïcha Ezghoubi (-49 kg).

Two other athletes distinguished themselves by climbing on the second step of the podium: Firas El Kattoussi (-80 kg) and Fares Boujemâa (-68 kg).

Tunisian participation in this competition will be followed by an internship, scheduled from August 16 to 22, before returning to the country to immediately leave for the city of Muju, South Korea, where the Manche of the Grand Prix will be held from August 24 to 31. This meeting will bring together Firas El Kattoussi, Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi, Moataz Laifaoui and Chaïma Toumi.

The technical staff also prepares the great deadline of the season: the world championships, scheduled from October 24 to 30, 2025 in Wuxi, China. Tunisia will already align Khalil Jendoubi, Firas El Kattoussi, Chaïma Toumi, Wafa El Mesghouni, Ikram Ezahri, Moataz Laifaoui and Ahoued Ben Aoun, with the possibility of integrating other athletes who will be selected later.
