Tunisian tenniswoman Ons Jabeur, ranked 22nd in the world, announced today, on its Facebook page, that its season is over due to the persistent injury.
“This year was extremely difficult for me (…) due to a persistent shoulder injury, my medical staff and I made the decision difficult to put an end to the current season,” said Ons Jabeur.
However, she meets her fans at the start of next year, announcing that her return to the courts will be in Australia, on the occasion of the first Grand Slam of next season.
Because of his injury, Ons Jabeur was also deprived of tennis this season making only a few average appearances. This had consequences for his position in the WTA ranking.
Ons Jabeur is currently 22nd while she was in 2nd place in the world in January 2023. She then lost places but still remained ranked 6th for 23 weeks. Since then, she has continued to lose points and positions in the standings.
