If there is no longer really suspense, the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, having confirmed that the 2034 edition of the World Cup should not escape Saudi Arabia, it would be ready to welcome the World Cup in summer or winter.
The Saudi Football Federation declared itself ready to welcome the 2034 Football World Cup in summer or winter, after the announcement by FIFA that the Gulf Kingdom was the only candidate for the organization of the tournament.
“We are ready to deal with all the possibilities,” said its president, Yasser Al-Misel, on the sidelines of the prize ceremony for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in Qatar last night in Qatar.
The candidacy of Saudi Arabia occurs less than a year after the organization of the first World Cup in winter, in neighboring Qatar.
Temperatures can climb up to 50 degrees Celsius in summer in the Gulf region, one of the hottest in the world.
“There are many new technologies that allow you to cool or add air conditioners in the stadiums, not to mention that many cities in the kingdom enjoy a very pleasant atmosphere in summer,” said the owner of Saudi football.
However, it should be recalled that, even if Infantino made this announcement, the official allocation of the 2034 World Cup will not be done until the end of 2024 when FIFA has carried out exhaustive application and evaluation procedures.
