The crisis broods in the African club. The relationship between President Haykel Dekhil and the American investor Fergie Chambers has deteriorated considerably, threatening the club’s financial stability.

Fergie Chambers, heir to the cox family and political activist, has injected more than 15 million Tunisian dinars (around 5.2 million dollars) in the African club since his arrival in 2024. Originally perceived as a savior, his commitment was aimed at redressing club finances and restoring his competitiveness on the national and continental scene.

However, Chambers now expresses his deep dissatisfaction with the management of President Dekhil. He denounces a lack of transparency, unilateral decisions and the lack of investor consultation. In a public declaration, he said: “I gave this club much more than what I initially accepted. »»

Faced with this situation, Chambers requires the establishment of an independent external audit to assess the club’s financial and administrative management. He also calls for the formation of a stable and elected steering committee, emphasizing his desire to see legitimate and transparent governance. He said he did not intend to run for the club’s presidency, despite rumors in this direction.

In another message message published on his Facebook page, the American declares that he will not accuse anyone directly, including the club president, of “theft or embezzlement”, stressing that the funded funds were poorly managed. He also indicates that he does not wish to have any legal action but simply that the president resigns, and that the audits and the restructuring begin.

For his part, Haykel Dekhil sent a message last night to the supporters via the official Facebook page of the African Club in which he called the Presidency of the Republic, the Presidency of the Government, the Ministry of Finance and the Sages of Sages of the African Club to carry out an audit of the club accounts.
