Last Sunday, February 11, took place in Tunis the final of Ooredooez Cup Free 2024. This tournament, which extended over three weeks, offered Tunisian players a competitive platform to highlight their talent and their passion for video games.

Organized in four qualification phases, the tournament drew the attention of free Fire players across the country. The participants clashed for a place in the final, where the best players contributed for a cash price of a total value of 10,000 DT, offered by Ooredoo.

In addition, the eight best participants were rewarded with checks and phones for their exceptional performance.

This tournament was much more than just video game competition. He embodied the passion of Tunisian players for video games and consolidated the role of Ooredoo as active support from the gaming community in Tunisia.

In an intervention, Sunil Mishra, Chief Marketing Officer at Ooredoo expressed palpable optimism at the promising future of this booming sector.

Stressing the dynamic youth of the country, he noted that, although video games were not very important when they arrived, they have now become an essential phenomenon.

The boom in mobile games was particularly remarkable, gradually going from pure entertainment to electronic sports.

This transition was so striking that electronic sports are starting to replace physical sports in certain regions, demonstrating their growing popularity.

Countries are now establishing specific regulation organizations to supervise this new industry, now with solid international references.

The exponential growth in the video game sector in Tunisia is also underlined, with a massive adoption of games and a user base estimated at nearly 5 million, combining both organized and not organized sectors. This trend testifies to the magnitude of the phenomenon and its impact on Tunisian society.

In short, the future of video games in Tunisia seems radiant, carried by a young dynamic and an increasing adoption.

These developments promise to place Tunisia on the global video game card, with opportunities for economic growth and international influence.
