Ons Jabeur beat her opponent 6-3, 6-2 in a match she dominated from start to finish.
In the 3rd round, the Tunisian will be opposed to the Armenian Elina Avannesyan, 43rd in the WTA ranking. She will have to be wary of her opponent who eliminated her teammate in double the Spanish Paula Badosa (12th in the world) in three sets (6-3, 1-6, 6-2) in the 2nd round.
Ons Jabeur and Elina Avannesyan clashed once in the past last March and the Armenian had the last word by eliminating the Tunisian in the 2nd round of the Miami tournament.
