Tunisian tenniswoman, Ons Jabeur (2nd in the world ranking) will begin, next Monday, January 16, its participation in the Australian Open (January 16-29) against Slovenian Tamar Zidansek (88th in the WTA ranking).
Ons Jabeur and Tamara Zidansek have already faced each other once in the past. Slovenian had won in Rome in 2019 in two sets (6-3, 7-6).
Ons Jabeur started her season last week by participating in the Adelaide tournament (Australia) where she was beaten in the semi-finals by the Czech resulting from qualifying, Linda Nosková (102nd) in three sets (3-6, 6-1, 3-6).
A finalist at Wimbledon and the US Open, last season, the Tunisian could not participate in the 2022 edition of the Australian Open because of an injury and had to declare.
His best performance in Australia remains her quarter -final reached in 2020.
